What if your business was built around your day, not your bank account?
A few years ago, I found myself constantly trying to reverse-engineer my life around my revenue goals. I’d map out the number I wanted to hit for the quarter, work backwards into a launch plan or client count, and try to fit the rest of my life in after the business needs were met. Which meant things like rest, flexibility, and time with my family always came last. And I don’t know if you’ve ever been there, but it feels like a constant game of catch-up…like you’re doing everything right but still feeling off.
Eventually, I hit a point of burnout where I realized I didn’t want to scale something that didn’t even feel good to live inside. I didn’t want to create a business that looked great on paper but left me overwhelmed and disconnected from the life I said I was building it for.
So I started asking a new question:
What do I want my days to look like?
The Dream Day Exercise (aka the starting point that changed everything)
I sat down and mapped out what an ideal weekday would feel like right now - not in five years, but in this season of my life. Not just what I wanted to do in a day, but how I wanted to feel.
Here’s what I wrote down:
Slow mornings
Deep work blocks for creative projects, not scattered 30-minute bursts
A hard stop in the afternoon so I could fully unplug and even pick my daughter up early from pre-school when I felt like it
Simplicity; No more jumping between 8 tools just to stay organized
Space to think again
It was eye-opening to realize how far my business had pulled me from those things. And it was equally empowering to see that I could start making small shifts (and big ones) to move closer.
What building around your day actually looks like
This isn’t about manifesting your perfect lifestyle and hoping the clients roll in. It’s about aligning your business model to your energy, your needs, and your priorities.
It’s things like:
Structuring your offers to fit your schedule (and attention span)
Pricing in a way that supports your financial needs without overbooking yourself
Automating or delegating the tasks that drain you
Setting up a rhythm for your week that supports your capacity (instead of burning through it)
When you do that, your business actually becomes easier to run. You stop feeling like you’re behind all the time. And you start making decisions from a place of clarity, not desperation.
Why it works (and why most people skip this part)
Most business programs teach you how to build your business first, and then figure out your life after. But here’s the thing, when you don’t account for your life, your energy, your time, your responsibilities, and your values... you end up building something you secretly want to escape.
When you start from your day, you end up with something sustainable. Something that grows with you. And yes, you can still hit big goals. You can still scale. But you’ll be doing it from a foundation that actually supports you.
You don’t have to do it alone
This shift doesn’t happen overnight. And it can feel kind of scary, especially if your current business model isn’t working but you’re not sure how to rebuild it. That’s why community matters so much. Being around other women who are building in a way that honors their lives (not just their revenue targets) changes how you see what’s possible.
Inside Pollinate (our signature group mentorship program), that’s exactly what we focus on. We don’t just talk about alignment as a buzzword. We actually create the systems, offers, and clarity you need to build a business that works for you, starting with your day, not just your bank account.
The next cohort is coming soon, and I’d love to share more if you’re curious.
In the meantime, maybe just try this:
Grab a notebook, and write out what a dream weekday would look like for you in this season. You might be surprised by what you find and what shifts from simply knowing it.
It’s not open to the public quite yet, but the next cohort is coming soon. And if you’re ready to build around your day, not just your numbers, it might be the exact support you’ve been looking for. Join the waiting list here.
